CHECK OUT OUR CURRENT FUNDRAISER
Dance Experience is a non-profit dance studio and relies on volunteers to ensure a successful season. Parent and student involvement is essential and we value and appreciate your contributions.
The minimum volunteer commitment will be based on the number of hours your family dances each week:
3 hours a week or less - required to volunteer for a minimum of two hours in the season.
Over 3 hours a week - required to volunteer a minimum of four hours in the season.
At the time of registration, a deposit of $100.00 for families dancing 3 hours a week or less, or $200.00 for families dancing over 3 hours a week, will be collected. This deposit may be provided by cheque post-dated to June 15 of the next calendar year, or by credit card authorization with an expiry date of July 2027 or later.
Once the required volunteer hours are completed, the cheque or authorization will be destroyed. If the family does not volunteer, the cheque will be cashed at the end of the season.
Please note that the volunteer commitment fee was established primarily to ensure there are enough volunteers for Talent Day and the Year End Shows. The number of volunteers needed varies from year to year and due to the small size of our studio we require volunteers to provide quality events.
Activities that may not count toward the minimum commitment include: casinos, office volunteering, fundraising and committee meetings or activities, and required training time. Casino volunteer hours do not count toward the volunteer commitment deposit.
Requests for volunteers will be distributed by email and coordinated through SignUp.com.
*NEW* Family studio cleaning volunteer requirement
Keeping our studios clean, welcoming and ready for dancers is a shared responsibility. Each family is required to complete one studio cleaning shift during the dance season, approximately one hour in length.
Cleaning shifts will be scheduled throughout the season, and families will have an opportunity to sign up for a time that works for them. Duties may include wiping down shelves and other surfaces, cleaning floors and mirrors, and emptying garbage and recycling.
The studio cleaning shift is separate from the volunteer commitment outlined above and does not count toward the minimum volunteer hours required for the season.
We appreciate each family contributing to the care of our shared studio space and helping to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for dancers, families and instructors.
